ripping is out of control for holiday season!

Journal Entry: Tue Dec 11, 2007, 4:13 PM

****WARNING: Foul language is very present in the following journal***********

....I hate art thieves. I hate them with everything in me. ESPECIALLY those who get all big in their theft. And to make it worse, it seems as though not enough people truly give a shit...excuse the language. It's fucking insanely ridiculous. hearing comments like "we'll why did you put it up, if you had a problem with me using it on photobucket".... well, lets see, CONSIDERING IM A FUCKING DIGITAL ARTIST, I KINDA HAVE TO DISPLAY IT DIGITALLY.  I cant display it in an art gallery, though if you steal art from a gallery you can go to fucking jail.

Im looking for you assholes who take advantage of the artists who work hard to make a name for themselves online, and can do very little about it. Im going to make it one of my lifetime goals to try to get laws passed to where sites HAVE to release info on people who rip work online. You thieves are lower than shit.

Aside from the image i just posted, there are a plethora of others im battling.

[link] i actually reported over 7 weeks ago, and flikr still has yet to remove it.

....to name a few.

MY WORK ISNT FOR YOUR USE. unless it is a stock resource, dont take it and post it anywhere, ever, without permission. im not kidding anymore, its not for your personal use. I dont give permission, and i will try my hardest to make sure you know im not happy.

...how is everything else everyone? have big plans for the upcoming seasons?

Cmon, you're worrying too much about this, those people just grab our images and post them on their flickrs / photobuckets / whatever accounts, they do it because they like our works, they even leave the credits in the title and dont change the image, maybe it's just me but I really dont care.

There are far worse persons who sell / change our images, those are the ones you should worry about (:

i guess the problem is that people think that they can get away with it... i mean, there are over 1 billion people using the internet - can you really regulate everyone? and also people have a tendancy to think that everything on the internet is free and you can just take it without consequence - then they people get really annoyed when copyright comes in or you have to pay for something. people just love to exploit everything they come across, don't they. i haven't had my work ripped (at least that i know of) but i really do sympathsise with you! you're art is amazing and people should respect it and appreciate it. good luck fighting the rippers!

I don't get why people in this world don't have respect for others!!! But oh well, I hope they take them down soon - so good luck!

i understand you completely. my work was copied a couple of months ago, which is a whole other level of non-creativity because this girl spent 15 hours making a copy of my necklace ([link]) and the thing that pissed me off the most was that she even photographed the necklace in the same way as i do...
i don't know if she or anybody else copied my work afterwards. i also can't guarantee i'd have a sane reaction next time, each piece i make has a part of me in it, some kind of a statement and i feel VERY violated and angry when somebody ruins my work (makes something like the previously mentioned "creative artist").
and then everybody else says that old "you published it - it's your fault" or "she looks up to you so she tried" i don't give a crap if somebody looks up to me - if you consider yourself some kind of an artist then make your own crap!!! don't steal other peoples ideas/designs!

Copied and pasted from someone's flickr photo. 35 views since then, of which i'm sure 34 came from this journal entry, and 1 from you searching, I wouldn't be too worried about those assholes.

as i've stated before, you should watermark your work all over random places instead of just the bottom corner as you've done. that's the only way to protect it until you actually sell that print or what/not to someone else.
