A simple note + Threadless!

Journal Entry: Fri Nov 16, 2007, 12:17 PM

Awhile back, I wrote on how Bobby and his family were in need of some help. Well, this will be my last journal dedicated to the efforts. Here it is closing in on Thanksgiving and Christmas and they are still without a home and a majority of the things they once held dear, due to a fire which devastated their house. (please read [link] and [link] for more info.)

On stop of things, Bobby's grandfather died the 8th of November, and the family has had to miss a lot of work for all the things piling on top. It's been a hard time for everyone.

So, please help in any way you can. Donate a few bucks to Bobby's paypal (be.neal.78@hotmail.com), donate a stock package, donate a print, donate your best wishes. I hope more of you will open your hearts and help me and the people I see as my second family to get through a very tough time.

Thanks to my friends Puma :), David, Ted and evoke, and Kevin for your help and I will be sending out the prints asap to those who asked for them.

So far we have only raised about $250, and their family literally lost everything. Their home insurance paid only enough to pay off the mortgage, with no extra money to rebuild and the red cross hasn't done anything. Please friends, help in this time of need.

Amy

Yeah red cross is usually more concerned with the massive disasters. I'm sure they can afford to help you guys but without lots of news coverage they don't get the publicity and the donations that follow. We need to skip the red cross and donate to the people that need sometimes. Can't be any less intelligent than the 90% of our other daily expenses; we donate to the KrispyKremes company and all we get is flavored dust.

:( It saddens me that not very many people have jumped onto this to help out. I am not working right now, or I would have donated by now. I have a couple pennies to my name at the moment. Why isn't the red cross doing anything? Where are they staying? Would it be helpful do you think to start a Thanksgiving dinner fund, if the house fund is too out of reach for people? I want to help.

i dont know really...the red cross sucks. they were there that day handing out expensive snacks to the firefighters for doing their job, but i think it just more or less distracted them... the parents (homeowners) are currently having to live separately so as to not put as much of a strain on anyone who brings them in. any help they can get would be great, and you are a sweetheart for at least showing some concern. if you can help in any way, even helping to get the word out, i would be willing to send you a print. :)
